Frog in a Hole - Episode 19

ASHLEY: Is this-- are we getting off track here?
SAM: Probably, but it's fun.
TRAVIS: No, get in there!
LAURA: We got a few hours before we've got to be back to look at the telescope.
ASHLEY: Okay. Zoomp.
SAM: What are you doing? What are you being?
TALIESIN: She just said, "Zoomp."
ASHLEY: Frog, I went frog.
MARISHA: Okay, Laudna takes her red yarn, and I make a little frog holster for you. You know, a little harness.
TRAVIS: It's yarn, right?
MARISHA: It's just yarn. We're not talking about some steel rope or some shit. It's just fucking yarn.
LIAM: It's going to hold up well.
TALIESIN: We should have a count before we start pulling her back out anyway, in case something goes wrong.
SAM: How's she going to signal us? I guess pull three times? Can you pull?
LIAM: She's three inches tall.
SAM: Oh wait, we can still communicate with her mentally.
LAURA: That's right, we can.
SAM: For a bit of time.
TALIESIN: Unless it's like a dimensional portal or something like that.
SAM: We can try.
TALIESIN: If 60 seconds go by, we just start dragging her back in.
ASHLEY: Yeah, that's fine.
MARISHA: 60 seconds.
TALIESIN: 60 seconds.
SAM: I can communicate an emotion to you and you can communicate one back to me. That's not verbal at all.
ASHLEY: Great.
SAM: Okay.
ASHLEY: We probably did all this before I--
SAM: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
ASHLEY: Okay.
TRAVIS: If you turn into a frog, I can just talk to you.
SAM: But she'll be gone.
TRAVIS: Oh.
LAURA: As all this is happening, while they're tying Fearne up and doing all this stuff, Orym hears in his head: How are you doing?
LIAM: Good, good. It's not the end of the road. It's just a dead end. Sorry, or maybe it's not. I'm good.
LAURA: All right. Okay.
MARISHA: Laudna shoves the frog in the hole.

Bread w/ Eggs - Frog in a Hole

Frog in a Hole

I went frog

I love that the water plane is just chillin' behind this fountain. I bet that explains a bit of why the area is a swamp too, wanna bet? Anyway, let's talk frogs! This recipe has a lot of different names: Frog in a hole, toad in a hole, egg in a basket...etc. But "frog in a hole," I mean it has such a great ring to it!

I'm actually not that into mixing my eggs and toast. I know a lot of people love eggs and sandwiches, and dipping their toast in eggs and more, but that never struck me personally. But, to each their own! Let's make some frogs.

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray or butter
  • Egg
  • Bread
  • Cheese (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat
  2. Cut a circle out of a piece of bread
  3. Spray a pan with cooking spray, or butter both sides of the bread with a hole in it.
  4. Cook the bread on 1 side for about a minute
  5. Crack an egg directly into the circle in the toast - add cheese here if you like
  6. Cook the egg and bread for about a minute
  7. Flip them and cook for another 30 seconds to a minute

Tips, Suggestions, and Substitutions

Tips & Suggestions

  • The instructions above are great if you like a runny egg. If you like a stiffer egg, see substitutions for more suggestions
  • For cutting out the circle, I used one of our glasses. I found that about the size of a wineglass is pretty good to fit the egg in the bread. But look around, see what you have.

Substitutions

  • If you like your eggs really runny skip the second flip - just be careful not to burn the bread.
  • For an egg over hard, don't pre-cook the toast, put the egg right into the toast once you put it in the pan and cook them both together.
  • Make it with scrambled eggs by scrambling it in a bowl with a splash of milk and salt and pepper before putting the egg into the toast

In Conclusion...

My partner is a huge fan of eggs and toast so he was so happy that this what was I decided to make this week! I also had never really cooked eggs over easy before like this. I'm not saying I did a good job, but I can say that we didn't get sick! That's always my fear is that I'll get sick from raw eggs... and then I eat cookie dough anyway, so maybe I need to not worry about it.

This recipe is all over the place. It's not really owned by someone (seriously, google it, you'll find it quick). I didn't really add or improve it in any way. Though, in hindsight, I think I'd add more to the eggs, like bacon bits, or peppers or something, like little mini omelets. That could be good!
