Levitate - for Dorian, Episode 14 (Part 1)

ROBBIE: You know what's funny? I've always felt, my entire life, always, like I was on the outside looking in. And you, you have all made me feel like I am part of something bigger, and I will be forever grateful for that. Thank you.
TALIESIN: To Dorian, who is leaving us for his stupid brother. What the fuck is up with that?
TRAVIS: What the fuck is up with that?
SAM: What the fuck is up with that?
LAURA: What the fuck is up with that?
ASHLEY: May the hair in your ears never fall out.
ROBBIE: Oh, thank you.
TRAVIS: You have hair in your ears?
ROBBIE: Someday, I'm sure I will.
TRAVIS: You're not a burden, by the way. You shouldn't have said that. You were quite the asset. You, you little fuck, I'll cut you open--
ROBBIE: Wait, hold on, hold on! Stop, stop!
MATT: "Who is this?"
TRAVIS: You keep your shit intact!
MATT: "Who is this guy?"
ROBBIE: He is a friend. A very hairy, angry friend.
MATT: "I get it. Look, I am sorry."
TRAVIS: Yeah.
MATT: "I remember you."
TRAVIS: Yeah. You want me to leave you with something to remember me by? I'll tell you right I--
MATT: "No, look I get it! I'm sorry, I'm sorry. All of you, all of you, I am so sorry."
ASHLEY: You're an idiot.
MATT: "I know."
TRAVIS: You better earn this. This is a good one. I mean, he's a little famous and pretentious, but he's good, so you earn it.
MATT: "No, you're right."
TALIESIN: Don't put anything in your mouth without his permission. You're just going to choke on it.
MATT: "Got it, got it, okay."
MARISHA: And just maybe don't come back next time.
MATT: "Fair, fair."
ROBBIE: Not in she wants you to die way, right?
MARISHA: Oh, no, no. Just, you know, you can come back, but you should stay home and raise a garden or something.
MATT: "Honestly, I agree. I, um-- I've gotten a taste of the winds I was seeking and I got blown in the wrong direction. Maybe I'll find them. Maybe it's... when all this is over, it's time for me to go home and be who I was meant to be."
ROBBIE: Let's just get out of here first.
MATT: "Okay."

Levitate

Would anyone like to hear a song?

As we bid farewell to everyone's favorite Air Genasi, I wanted to honor him with an uplifting drink, that matches his color scheme. I like the idea of Dorian's drink being something specific to who he was, and how he made people feel, so I decided to call it a Levitate. It's uplifting, it's 'floaty,' and it's blue! 

I've decided I'm going to do tribute drinks for all major recurring characters upon their departure from the campaign, or possibly earlier, in some instances. I previously did a drink for Little Mister, and Bertrand Bell's Favorite, as of writing this post, is still my most popular recipe on this blog. 

This is a lovely little blue concoction and we have it in alcoholic and non-alcoholic varietals. And, if you multiply the ounces, you could make a full punch bowl's worth of Levitate. We will miss Dorian's charisma and musical weapons, but I for one am VERY excited to see him back in Exandria Unlimited soon. Maybe along with some other familiar (or new) faces! But, without further ado, let's stir things up!

Ingredients

All ingredients here are listed in oz for easy scaling up. Their easy-measure counterparts are listed in parenthesis next to them. 

• Alcoholic Version
• 8 oz Sprite (1 cup)
• 1.5 oz Blue Curacao (1 shot)
• .8 oz of Pineapple Vodka (1/2 shot)
• 1.5 oz orange juice (1 shot)
• Non-Alcoholic Version
• 4 oz Sprite (1/2 cup)
• 4 oz Blue Hawaiian Punch (1/2 cup)
• .8 oz orange juice (1/2 shot)
• Ice

Directions

1. Put all of the ingredients into a glass with ice
2. Stir and enjoy

Tips, Suggestions, and Substitutions

Tips & Suggestions

• If you could find some way to make this a slushie, it would be so good. I don't know how you'd do it, but it would be good. 

Substitutions

• If orange juice is too strong, you can get orange/pineapple or orange/mango juice to add a different kind of flavor, in both cases, it should work. 
• You can substitute Sprite for your favorite lemon-lime soda.

In Conclusion...

My partner really enjoyed the nonalcoholic version and I really liked the alcohol version! The nonalcoholic option came out a bit more teal than blue, but you could always add some food coloring, or get a darker color of Hawaiian punch than what I got, and that might help. I came up with this mostly on my own? I like my mixed drinks pretty simple, though I know there are some great complicated ones out there. But I think Dorian is a straightforward kinda guy. As much as he would probably enjoy a fancy cocktail with orange peel and mint garnish... I really think at the end of the day he'd be happy with whatever his friends were having. Whether it's an ale or a blue-tinted mixed drink, if he's with friends, I think it would be perfect. So make one for yourself, and one for a friend, and raise a toast to Dorian Storm.
